Endowment - Mobile Units




1. Mobile resuscitation and intensive care unit:

It is a class C unit, according to the european standards, with a mixt crew from the Fire Department and from the Mures county Hospital, with an emergency physician or an anaestesiology and intensive care specialist on board. This unit has been purchased following a public fund-raising in 1998, at the price of 183,000 DM. The equipment in this unit is similar to that of an intensive care hospital room, including the lab equipment for arterial gas analysis, electrolites and blood sugar. This unit is used for the critical cases like severe trauma, cardiac patients or severe intoxications in a critical condition. This unit covers an average of 5-7 intervention per 24 hours.











2. Special intervention and medical transport unit:

This is a Ford unit with a medical mudular cell. It has the possibility of transporting up to four patients on stretchers. It is used in severe traffic accidents and in long distance transports.











3. First-aid and medical transport unit:

They are Chevrolet and Mercedes units, used in interventions and emergency transport.











4. Fast intervention unit for emergency physician:

They are special units used to transport the emergency physician and the medical crew along with their equipments to the scene. They are not used for patients' transport.











5. Road emergency and extrication unit:

It is a special unit geared with equipment designed for extrication and special rescue operations. It's equipments include hydraulic generating sets, special cutting and releasing instruments, special cushions allowing a weight-lifting up to 30 tons using compressed air, electric generators and power spotlights used to enlighten the intervention scene.











6. Rescue boat:

It is a pneumatic power boat, used for fast interventions on the Mures river. It is called to intervene on drowning emergencies.
